Happy Birthday, Electric Car
We join in the electrial socket serenade as the Nissan LEAF turns 1 year old. Happy Birrrthday! It’s a time for electricity to celebrate, like in this spot for Nissan. Sockets all over a house singing away.
An electrial outlet choir? Yes. It is unconventional… even a bit odd. But, we have to admit it is cute rendition by outlets of all kinds: young, old, interior, exterior, and even one night light plugged in. Our only complaint is all the outlets are 110 volts, which would be an unlikely choice to charge a hatchback. It would take almost a day!
Charge times aside, we included the video for you to see. Feel free to sing along. Congratulations to the world’s first 100% electric car. LEAF owners have given the world over 32 million gas-free, pure electric miles this year.
Happy birthday, LEAF.
Get ready for curbside recycling in Statesboro.
We need larger recycling bins in Houston, originally uploaded by Get Ahead.
Get ready. Get set. Curbside recycling is almost here!
There are still a few bins that need homes. If you are interested, contact Katie at the Keep Bulloch Beautiful office, 912.764.6147.
Thanks for keeping Bulloch so beautiful. Thanks for recycling!
Oh, and remember when we posted about the surveys at the City of Statesboro building? We actually filled out a survey that day, which means we are on the list for a bin.
Hooray for Statesboro. HOORAY!
Pep. Pep. Hooray!
Join us for the Pep Rally on Monday, Nov1, 6:30pm at the LucasTheatre. OPEN TO PUBLIC!, originally uploaded by Extreme Build Savannah.
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is coming to Savannah. And, the Pep Rally at Lucas Theatre is planned and scheduled. Hip. Hip. Yay!
As long time fans of the show, a passion for the Home Building Industry, and a love for doing good things for good people, we are thrilled that HGTV is coming to Savannah to delight one special family. This is so warm and fuzzy. We love it!
This giant-size, heart undertaking will require a lot of work, around the clock. There are a ton of volunteer opportunities to make the magic work.
Man. It is exciting when amazing things happen to deserving people. There are so many deserving families in this area. We are going to donate, plan to visit the build site, and hope to be chosen to volunteer. Wouldn’t that be great?!
We will definitely be tuned in to the show. Want you?
You can nominate a Savannah family for Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, here.
Lori Grice has a blog post from the actual event – see it here.
Easy Glowing Ghosts
milk jug ghost, originally uploaded by lizardnladybug.
We admit this isn’t a traditional post from an electrician. But, these cute, easy-t0-make, inexpensive, and fun decorations caught our eye because they do, afterall, use electricity. redbpower can help with this little project if, maybe, you need an outdoor outlet to run your lights to, or something. But, otherwise this is just a fun-how-to-make-your-halloween-glow post.
Easy Glowing Ghost
Instructions
Things You’ll Need:
Empty milk jugs
Flameless candles, or strands of Christmas Tree Lights
Paint or permanent black marker
Knife
1 Clean and Dry the milk jug. Paint or draw a face on the front side of the jug, keeping the handle as the back. Let dry for a couple of minutes.
2 Use the knife to cut a hole the size of your fist on the back of the jug – out of sight.

3 Place the flameless candle or light strands inside the jug. These can be found in most stores in the Halloween section and will be safer than real candles.
4 Set up wherever you desire and watch them glow in the dark!
Tips & Warnings Kids will love this craft. Be sure to involve them in making the faces and be as creative as you want. This project is not just limited to ghosts, but all kinds of monsters can also be formed. Use your imagination. Keep knives away from children and be cautious while cutting the back of the jug. It can be tricky. Do not use real candles. They will melt the jug and may be a safety hazard.
Skip To My Lou has a great Hanging Lantern Ghost Tutorial that also uses light bulbs and recycled materials.
